Beckenham Junction to Grove Park, Sunday 24th August

On Sunday 24th August, five club members gathered at East Croydon Station for the short tram journey to Beckenham Junction, where we were joined by Tom Holgate. We then set off northwards, entering Beckenham Place Park and passing The Mansion before taking a short drinks and comfort stop at The Stables. Taking advantage of the warm sunny conditions, we then followed an extended loop through the woods before crossing the railway line and the Recreation Ground where we took a second break by the newly installed picnic tables. After crossing the A21 Bromley Road, we continued to follow The Capital Ring eastbound, finally reaching, Grove Park, where the walk ended. Taking the bus, we soon reached Bromley South where five of us retiring to the Richmal Crompton for refreshments. What a splendid day!
