Haywards Heath, Thursday 4th September

On Thursday 4th September, nine ramblers took a fast train to Haywards Heath. A gentle climb in sunshine and an odd shower took us through suburbs, fields and wet woods to the charming village of Cuckfield. In the Rose and Crown, at a jolly table for eight, we devoured tasty lunches. After a visit to the parish church which has a lovely refurbished interior, we walked back through pleasant fields and suburbs to the station. As our 5 mile walk took up most of the day, we returned to Croydon at around 4.00pm. A very pleasant time was had by all!
