On Sunday 12th October, ten club members, including several new ones, arrived for this 5 mile morning walk from Hurst Green to Oxted. Having taken the train to Hurst Green, we began the walk in cool, dry calm conditions. Generally heading north, we climbed Pains Hill and skirted a golf course. We then crossed and recrossed Limpsfield Road before following a short stretch of the Greensand Way, and descending along a path over the Chart until we reached the A25, where the sun finally put in an appearance. After crossing this main road, we climbed the short, sharp hill to Morrisons’ Supermarket and the welcoming Oxted Inn where we stopped for a well earned drink before catching the train back to Croydon.
