In ideal walking weather, Sally, Dave, Alex and I gathered at Streatham Common Station to walk section five of the Capital Ring. We began by following the railway line towards Clapham Junction. After crossing the south side of Tooting Common, we stopped briefly by the café before crossing Bedford Hill onto the northern part of the Common. Emerging onto the leafy streets of Balham we re crossed Bedford Hill, following the Capital Ring signs to Wandsworth Common. Heading past the station and the ponds, we reached The Skylark Café where we stopped for a drink and a snack. Leaving the Common by crossing Trinity Road, we headed to Earlswood Station where we decided to terminate the walk. It was a splendid way to spend a warm sunny morning!
