Hampton to Kingston, Wednesday 4th March

On a lovely sunny day, five of us travelled to Hampton Station. From there we walked to the River Thames, going left along the river to Garrick House and Gardens, the former home of actor and playwright David Garrick. In the gardens is a temple built to honour Shakespeare. Having continued to Hampton Gate we entered Bushey Park to visit the Woodland Gardens, where there were lots of spring flowers, including daffodils, camelias and leucojums. After a coffee and a snack at the Visitor Centre, we strolled on through the park to Kingston, making the total distance around 4.5 miles.
