Hever to Chiddingstone, Sunday 14th June
posted 17th June 2026
On a warm, sunny morning, eight club members took the train from East Croydon to Hever. On leaving Hever Station, we followed the paths quiet lanes that led us past Hever Church and Primary School, and onwards to the village of Chiddingstone. After eating our packed lunches sitting on benches in the church porch, we adjourned to the local inn where we spent a relaxing half hour before resuming our trek. Continuing our anti-clockwise circuit, we soon found ourselves back at Hever Church. As we were between trains, we whiled away another half hour in the King Henry VIII pub before strolling back to the station for our journey home. In ideal weather, it was a perfect day out!
