London Bridge to Greenwich, Sunday 22nd February

London Bridge to Greenwich, Sunday 22nd February

On an unusually mild morning, nine club members took the train to London Bridge Station where our walk began. After joining the Thames Path, we passed under Tower Bridge and headed along Shad Thames before rejoining the paved path alongside the river. After passed several historic landmarks, including The Mayflower pub and the Brunel Museum, the path swung north to take us around Rotherhithe. As we reached the peninsula’s most northerly point, we were faced by Canary Wharf, with all its high-rise office buildings. Shortly after that, we reached The Barn Café, where we stopped for a break and refreshments before continuing along the river to Greenwich. Given the favourable weather, this proved to be a most enjoyable walk!
