North Sheen to Richmond via Richmond Park, Sunday 22nd March

On Sunday 22nd March, seven club members turned out for this very pleasant 4.6 mile walk through Richmond Park. Starting from North Sheen Station, we headed south along suburban streets and a wooded path. After entering the park at Bog Gate we continued south until we reached Sidmouth Wood. We then swung right-handed around the wood’s southern boundary. This brought us to Pembroke Lodge where we stopped for a drinks’ break. By this time the sun was out and it had become a perfect day to be outdoors! After our break, we sampled the views from the top of The Mound before heading downhill and across Petersham Common. When we reached the Thames Path, we followed it downstream until we passed Richmond Bridge. Turning right along a narrow side street, we then headed uphill and across Richmond Green to the train station where the walk ended. What a super way to spend a sunny Sunday morning!
