Five club members set out to walk from Gomshall to Shalford, but while on the train to Redhill we learned that the train which would have taken us to Gomshall had been cancelled. Fortunately, leader Graham had a cunning plan! After taking a bus to Reigate, we walked through the town to Reigate Heath, before following the path past Symington Castle. Eventually turning north, we crossed the road before making the gentle climb to the Windmill. We then headed west to the village of Betchworth, where we stopped for lunch. After lunch, we continued through Brockham to Betchworth Park Golf Club, where we crossed the A25 and headed into Dorking to travel to Redhill, where we took the train back to Croydon. Apart from one slightly scary set of steps, this was a most enjoyable walk!
