Five club members travelled by train and tube to Stanmore, the northern terminus of the Jubilee Line. From Stanmore Station, we headed north, passing some large, impressive Art Deco houses, before entering Stanmore Country Park. After leaving the park we continued north past the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. Having crossed from London into Hertfordshire, we headed into Elstree by way of Aldenham Reservoir. After lunch, we made a circuit around the perimeter of the local golf course on our way to Elstree & Borehamwood Station for our journey back to Croydon. In near perfect weather conditions, this proved to be a most enjoyable walk!
